Hi, I’m Davina

Hello! I’m an online psychologist based in Melbourne, and I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you; understanding your story, your unique and personal challenges and together navigating the bumpy and treacherous road towards mental wellbeing. We all face adversities in life, pain and suffering, yet we all deserve to live a meaningful life.

By day I work as a psychologist in both community services and private practice, and in my spare time you’ll find me sitting in the sun, reading a book, drinking coffee and daydreaming about my next trip or what my next delicious meal might be! I am a massive foodie, beach-lover and a seeker of living mindfully and making the most of the simple things in life.

My Experience

I have worked across a variety of public, community and private mental health services. I worked with teenagers and young adults at headspace, followed by working in an outpatient eating disorder treatment program in a public hospital. I currently share my time between private practice and working in community adult mental health. I have helped people with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, personality disorders, trauma, relationship difficulties, anger issues, substance abuse and eating disorders. I have a special interest in helping people with disordered eating and body dissatisfaction.

Who I help now - I work with anyone aged from 12 years and older, with a wide ranging of mental health diagnoses, concerns, issues.

Golden hour ? What’s with the name ?

The name sprung into my head like a lightbulb moment, however I have always found a sense of peace and tranquility when observing the golden hour. There is something about a sunrise or sunset, which has snapped me out of my busy mind and has brought me to the present moment.

‘Golden hour’ is a photography term which refers to the time of day, either just before the sun sets or just after the sun rises, where it is viewed as one of the most aesthetically pleasing times to take a photo. Some photographers call it the ‘magic hour’.

No but seriously, what has this got to do with psychology?

Okay, well I am not claiming to offer you a magic hour, I am no magician! However, I’d like to think that the hour (well, 50 minutes) we share together, has the potential to be a time for self-reflection, deeper connection, and personal growth

If you are considering investing in your mental health and wellbeing, an individual session is your golden hour, and it is my job to make your sessions feel worthwhile, meaningful and that you walk away with something new.
